Mission:
Photojournalism aimed at drawing world attention to the destruction of the
artisan fishing communities of Brazil's Northeast coast and their threatened
ecosystems.
Initiatives:
Not-for-profit, Endangered is fully prepared to address the saga of Brazil's Northeast fishermen by
mounting a twelve month photo expedition along the region's coastline, documenting
the daily life of the fishermen and their struggle to maintain their land, traditions,
and independence. The results will be publicized in preestablished international
publications and exhibitions. By raising public awareness and support, Endangered is
helping to spearhead activism aimed at finding solutions to a global problem of
ecological and cultural degredation. It also serves as a historical record.
What Have We Done Lately?
In 1997 Endangered was awarded a grant from the Daniele Agostino Foundation and a
generious donation from our corporate sponsor, FUJIFILM. Thanks to their support,
1998 saw Endangered lead a expeditionary team a thousand miles over rugged coastline
successfully documenting 1400km of the region.
